Hello, World!
Introduction
“Hello, World!” often the first thing programmers write when learning a new language. It also seems fitting as the title of the first post of this blog. Another common cliché in the programming world is “Naming things”… Alluding to the great difficulty we face to give things significant and concise names. So, in light of that, welcome to the Hello, World! post of 42 65 6e 6e 6f.
That is a strange title for a blogging website - right? Well, maybe - for now it will do, and perhaps those in the know will smirk when they figure it out.
Purpose
In this day and age - the internet is saturated with blogs stretching across all imaginable topics. Another programming related blog surely won’t break the camel’s back? The primary purpose of this blog is to provide some sense of accountability - but also to practice writing concisely. Having been a Software Engineer by trade since 2014, from personal experience, the old adage of “You never really know something until you teach it to someone else” tends to hold true. Here lies the crux of the purpose of this blog. A place to attempt to distil knowledge. The hope being, that over time, the quality of this blog improves, and knowledge becomes solidified. It is also simply a place to share any interesting projects, tinkerings, and the lessons learnt from them.
Content
So, what can you, dear reader, expect from this blog. Primarily, and selfishly, this blog’s purpose is to serve the writer - but if you also receive enjoyment from it, then that is fantastic. Expect the content of this blog’s posts to be centered around lessons learnt with:
- .NET
- Cloud Computing
- Programming musings
- TBD
Commitment
As highlighted in the Purpose section - there is a hope that this blog will instill some form of accountability, and commitment. That being said, life is life, sometimes it gets in the way. In the ideal world, a new post will appear once a quarter. Sometimes it will be more frequent, sometimes it will be less frequent. Who is to say. From now, until the next post, touch grass, enjoy life and check back in the near future for the “first post”.
